## What is SaaS North 2026?

SaaS North is a two-day Canadian conference for software founders, operators and investors. The organizers expect more than 2,000 attendees[¹](https://saasnorth.com/), with sessions split across five tracks: distribution and growth, product and strategy, capital and economics, people and culture, and builders and disruptors.

Most of the room sells software for a living. Those are the people Mathias wants to talk to.

## Who should book time with Mathias?

Four groups will get the most out of a conversation:

- SaaS founders whose customers sell in person. If your product serves businesses that take payments at a counter, those payments already run through someone. Scale lets you offer a point of sale and Final Pay under your own plans and earn on each transaction.
- Agencies and solution providers. If you set up systems for clients, you can package a checkout setup once and roll it out to every client you manage. Our post on [how agencies grow with white-label POS](/blog/how-agencies-can-grow-with-white-label-pos-solutions) covers that model.
- PayFacs and ISOs. Payment facilitators (companies that onboard merchants under their own account) and independent sales organizations (firms that resell merchant services) can give their merchants a flexible POS without building one.
- Other founders. Mathias is open to comparing notes with anyone building and selling software, especially from Atlantic Canada. Final is headquartered in St. John's, and our new [Atlantic Chamber of Commerce affinity partnership](/blog/atlantic-chamber-of-commerce-affinity-partner) shows how we work with the region's business community.

## How does Scale, Final's reseller program, work?

Scale is Final's console for organizations that run Final across many businesses. You resell Final POS and Final Pay to your own customers at rates you set, and you earn a residual (a recurring share of each transaction) on everything they process.

The core pieces:

- Plans. Package your checkout setups into Plans that control access, limits, features and pricing, then put your companies on them.
- Your markup. Final sets the base processing rate for each region. You add a markup per plan and region, as a percentage, a fixed fee, or both.
- One rate for the merchant. Your merchants see a single combined rate for their POS and payments.
- Residuals. Your markup is applied to every transaction and paid to you as residuals, so your revenue grows as your merchants sell more.
- Your team. Add unlimited admin users to your organization for onboarding and support.
- Your flows. Build a checkout flow once and distribute it across the companies you manage.

## Why would a SaaS company add in-person payments?

Because your customers' card payments are already happening, and right now another company earns on every one of them. With Scale, that revenue line can be yours, and it grows with your customers' sales instead of your seat count.

![Café owner taking an in-person payment at the counter, the kind of merchant a SaaS platform can serve through the Scale reseller program](https://storage.googleapis.com/final-os-media/media/43399b6a-0d29-48b6-84dd-88ef01fcb193/generated/970c4416a4bdbf12-saas-north-2026-cafe-counter-in-person-payments.png)

The catch is that payments are hard to build. Card-present hardware has to be certified, PCI compliance (the card industry's data security rules) has to be maintained, and refunds and end-of-day reports have to reconcile every time. Our guide to [building your own POS system](/blog/build-your-own-pos-system-with-ai) walks through each hurdle.

Scale skips that build. Your customers get a working point of sale and Final Pay on certified hardware, under your plans, and your engineers stay on your core product. Final is the world's most customizable point of sale, with no monthly software subscription. Most merchants start with a ready-made flow from the Flow Library, and when they want something different, they describe it in Flow Studio and it creates the flow for them.

## How do I book a meeting with Mathias at SaaS North?

Email [sales@finalpos.com](mailto:sales@finalpos.com) with "SaaS North" in the subject line. Include your name, your company and what you want to cover: Scale, payments for your platform, or general shop talk. The sales team will find a slot with Mathias during the conference.

Not going to Ottawa? Send the same email and the team will set up a call instead.

## So, should you meet Mathias at SaaS North 2026?

If your customers take payments in person, or you set up software for businesses that do, yes. A short conversation in Ottawa is the quickest way to find out whether Scale fits your product and what your margins could look like.

A simple rule of thumb: if your customers take payments, ask who earns on those payments. If the answer isn't you, it's worth a conversation.
