To set up a bookable product in Final, create a booking rule (schedule, slot length, charge unit) and at least one resource (staff, room, or equipment) in Catalogue Settings, then create a new product and choose the Bookable type. Attach the rule and resources, set your price, and save.

## Key takeaways

- Bookable products live in your normal catalogue and their sales become normal orders with the same reporting and refund flow.
- Booking rules define your schedule, slot length, buffer, and charge interval — one rule can be shared across many products.
- Resources (staff, rooms, equipment) are added once and reused across products, with outlet-specific availability.
- Availability is enforced server-side across all booking paths, preventing double-bookings even under simultaneous requests.
- Bookable products do not have stock, variants, or inventory tracking — resources replace them.

## What is a bookable product?

A bookable product sells time on something — a kayak by the hour, a treatment room by the night, a consultation at 2 pm, a yoga class with twelve seats. It lives in your normal product catalogue alongside standard products, and every sale becomes a normal order with the same receipt, reporting, and refund flow you already know.

Final supports four booking types out of the box: equipment and asset rentals, one-on-one appointments, overnight stays, and group sessions.

## Before you start

You'll need two things set up before a bookable product can go live:

- **A booking rule** — your schedule, slot length, buffer, and charge interval.
- **At least one resource** — the person, room, or piece of equipment being booked.

You can create both from inside the product form, so you don't need to set them up separately first.

## Step 1: Create a booking rule

Booking rules define when something is available and how you charge for it. One rule can be attached to many products — update it once and every product using it stays in sync.

1. In the Merchant Hub, go to **Products → Catalogue Settings → Booking Rules**.
2. Click **New Rule**.
3. Fill in the rule details:

- **Name** — required; something descriptive like
