To set up Final Terminal for the first time, sign in with your email on the terminal, select your company, and let it sync. Then choose your outlet (the card reader connects), run the setup wizard to name the terminal, and pick your employee profile and enter your PIN. The terminal is then ready to take payments.

## Key takeaways

- First-run setup happens on the terminal itself, after our team onboards you with a device.
- Sign in with your email — enter your password, or use a 6-digit email code.
- Select the company and outlet to connect the terminal to; it syncs your data automatically.
- Name the terminal in the setup wizard and run an optional test payment.
- Choose your employee profile and enter your PIN to start using the terminal.

## Before you begin

You set up Final Terminal on the terminal device itself, after our team onboards you and gets you a terminal (a Verifone V660p or Stripe Reader S700). To get one, reach out to us at **sales@finalpos.com**. You'll need your sign-in email and your employee PIN.

## Set up the terminal

1. **Sign in.** On the terminal, sign in with your **email** — enter your password, or choose **"Use email code instead"** and enter the **6-digit code** sent to your email.
2. **Select a company.** On **"Select a company,"** choose which company to connect this terminal to.
3. **Wait for it to sync.** The terminal shows **"Setting up your terminal — Syncing your data…"** and continues automatically once it's done (**"All set!"**).
4. **Select an outlet.** On **"Select an outlet,"** choose which outlet this terminal belongs to. The **payment reader connects** ("Connecting payment reader").
5. **Run the setup wizard.** Tap **Get Started**, enter a **Terminal name**, and tap **Continue**. On the confirmation screen, check the **card reader** status, optionally **Run Test Payment**, then tap **Start Using Terminal**.
6. **Choose your profile and enter your PIN.** On **"Select employee,"** choose who is operating the terminal and enter your **PIN**.

The terminal is now on the home screen and ready to take payments — Quick Charge, Quick Refund, and MOTO.
