With this release, we’re excited to introduce something we’ve worked very hard on and are incredibly proud of — meet Smart Grid. A new grid element in Final’s Builder that lets you create a flexible, customizable home page for every Outlet you serve. Smart Grid makes it easy for any business to set up a point-of-sale layout that adapts to different workflows — so you don’t have to guess which shortcuts, products, or actions each merchant relies on most.
The Builder defines the overall structure and styling, while each store decides what the tiles on the screen actually do. Unlike the standard Product Grid, Smart Grid is defined in Builder but configured directly on the Station — giving merchants an intuitive way to create fast product shortcuts, structured catalog browsing, quick actions, and custom navigation without redesigning the flow in Builder.
In short, Smart Grid gives merchants a modern and intuitive home page. It gives organizations and resellers a layout that scales, and gives every business the freedom to shape the POS around their own workflow and daily needs.
This release brings improved Roles in Manage, giving you more flexibility and control over user permissions. You can now create new roles with additional permissions, edit role names, and enjoy a cleaner, more intuitive interface. Permissions are now separated by which tool in our Tool Suite they apply to, so you know exactly who can access what.
With these updates, managing who can access what across your business is easier than ever. By assigning the right Role to each user, you can maintain control, accountability, and operational efficiency across your organization.
We’ve been very busy testing every edge case and carrying out extensive internal bug-finding sessions to ensure a smooth experience for all our users. We’re happy to report that we’ve been able to fix and improve upon several areas within our Tool Suite, and are confident that these changes deliver an optimized experience for users today, and lay a solid foundation for future enhancements.
