The Final Basket

About this build

Designed for The Salvation Army Food Bank, this kiosk application transitions food pantry distribution into a dignified, grocery-like shopping experience. Staff quickly set a client's CAD allowance during intake, and clients then shop autonomously from a categorized tablet-optimized catalog while watching their allowance update in real-time.

What it can do

Staff Intake Portal

Easily register clients by entering their name, ID number, and custom CAD grocery allowance before handing over the terminal.

Live Allowance Shopping

Displays a categorized product grid on the left and a dedicated cart on the right that instantly deducts costs from the client's starting balance.

Secure PIN Lockout

Safeguards the kiosk using a staff authorization dialog that requires a PIN to exit, reset sessions, or change configurations.

Housekeeping Station Settings

Provides a secure portal to customize the station authorization PIN and configure the receipt collection email address.

Thermal Receipt Printing

Outputs styled receipts listing selected items, total spent, and the remaining card balance to print or save.
