Custom stock adjustment reasons

Released 8 October 2026

The Adjust Inventory dialog now supports custom stock adjustment reasons. If your business moves stock for reasons the standard list does not cover — an exhibition loan, a piece gifted, opening stock, a consignment return — you can name that reason yourself, choose whether it adds, removes, or sets stock, and save it for your whole team to reuse.

What's new

  • Create a reason inline. Select New action… at the bottom of the Stock Actions dropdown, type a name (up to 40 characters), pick a direction (Add, Remove, or Set Stock), and save. The reason is created and the adjustment is recorded in one step.

  • Reuse saved reasons. Your company's custom reasons appear in the Stock Actions dropdown below the built-in options. Select one and the direction is already set — just enter the quantity and save.

  • Accurate Stock History. Every adjustment made with a custom reason shows that reason's name on the Stock History badge and is searchable by name in the timeline.

  • Updated icons. All stock actions — built-in and custom — now use a + (teal) icon for additions, a − (red) icon for removals, and a # (blue) icon for recounts, making the direction clear at a glance.

How to use it

Open any product in the Merchant Hub, click Adjust Inventory, and select New action… from the Stock Actions dropdown. For a full walkthrough, see How to adjust stock.
