Multi-printer linking: one Station, every printer

A Native Station now supports multiple printers at once, with tag-based routing that sends each print block to exactly the right printer automatically.

What changed

A Native Station can now drive multiple printers at once. Connect your counter receipt printer, your kitchen thermal, your bar printer and a label printer over Bluetooth, USB, LAN or AirPrint, all at the same time. Each print block in your flow routes automatically to the right printer the moment an order is placed. No manual re-prints, no running to the kitchen to check the ticket came through.

Multi-printer linking is available on Native Stations (the Final POS app on iOS and Android). Virtual Stations in a browser continue to use the standard print dialog with a single printer.

What's new

Multi-printer discovery and connection. Printer Settings in Station Home now lists every connected printer with its live status. Discover nearby printers automatically or add one manually by IP address, across Bluetooth, USB, LAN and AirPrint.

Tag-based print routing. Each printer gets one or more tags, for example kitchen, bar, counter or label. In Flow Studio, your print blocks carry matching tags. When a flow triggers a print, each block goes only to the printers whose tags match. Counter receipt to the counter, kitchen ticket to the kitchen, both at the moment the order completes.

If a print block carries two tags that map to the same printer, it prints once. If a printer is discovered over two connection types, it is de-duplicated automatically.

Per-printer margins and test print. Every printer has its own margin settings, so tickets render correctly on 80 mm thermal, 58 mm thermal or A4 paper. Hit Test Print on any printer card to confirm the layout before service starts.

Redesigned Printer Settings. The old single-printer pane is replaced by a full printer list: connection status, tags, margins and test print in one place.

Graceful error handling. If a tagged printer goes offline mid-service, the Station alerts the cashier in the checkout flow without blocking the payment. Orders keep moving and staff see which printer needs attention. If a print block's tag matches no connected printer, a visible notice appears so nothing disappears silently.

Auto-reconnect after restart. Linked printers reconnect automatically after the app is closed and reopened, with all per-printer settings preserved.

What's not included yet

  • Cloud Print is planned for a future phase.

  • Virtual (browser) Stations cannot use multi-printer routing. Printer Settings on a Virtual Station points you to the native app.

How to set it up

  1. Open the Final POS app on your iOS or Android device.

  2. Go to Station Settings and then Printer Settings.

  3. Tap Discover Printers, or add a printer manually by IP.

  4. Give each printer a tag (for example kitchen, counter, bar) and set margins to match your paper.

  5. Tap Test Print to confirm the layout.

  6. In Flow Studio, open your flow's print blocks and set the matching routing tags.

  7. Run a test order. Each block should land on its printer at the same time.

Who this is for

Food service first: restaurants, cafés and bars where counter and kitchen printing must happen together. It also covers retail setups running a receipt printer beside a label printer, and any venue mixing paper sizes.
