How Final POS pricing works
Final POS pricing in plain terms — the core platform has no monthly software fee, you pay a processing fee per card transaction through Final Pay, and Build runs on credits with a free tier plus optional paid plans.
Final POS pricing is built to be straightforward: you don't pay for software you're not using. There are three parts to understand — the core platform, payments, and Build — plus any hardware you choose to buy.
The short version
The core platform is free — no monthly software fee.
You pay per transaction on card payments, through Final Pay.
Build runs on credits — a free tier, with optional paid plans for more.
The core platform is free
Manage, Pay, and Run — the everyday tools in the Merchant Hub — have no monthly software subscription. You can set up your store, manage your products, team, and reports, and run your point of sale without a recurring software fee.
You pay per transaction with Final Pay
When you take a card payment through Final Pay, you pay a standard processing fee — a percentage plus a small fixed amount per successful charge. The exact rate depends on your region and the card type. Standard payouts to your bank are free; instant payouts have a small add-on.
For the exact rates, see Final Pay pricing, and for payout options see standard vs. instant payouts.
Build runs on credits
Build, Final's AI builder, uses credits — the usage currency you spend as you build (and on AI image and video generation). Every plan includes a free daily allowance of credits, and you can move up for more:
Free — $0. A daily allowance of credits, great for trying Build and getting started.
Plus — $25/month. More monthly credits, plus a daily top-up.
Pro — $99/month. Even more credits, with rollover and a daily top-up.
Enterprise — custom. Pooled, higher-volume credits and custom terms.
Higher tiers also unlock additional features and advanced AI models. Because media generation is paid from the same credit pool, your credit allowance is the natural limit — there's no separate "media" bill.
Hardware
Card readers, printers, and other hardware are bought at the listed price (plus any tax and shipping) — there's nothing to lease. And because Final runs on standard iPhone, Android, and browser devices, you can start with what you already own and add hardware as you grow.
What you won't pay
No monthly software fee for the core platform.
No setup fees or hidden fees.
You pay for what you use: card processing on your sales, Build credits beyond the free allowance, and any hardware you choose to buy.
Frequently asked questions
Is there a monthly fee to use Final POS?
Not for the core platform — Manage, Pay, and Run have no monthly software fee. Build (the AI builder) has a free tier, with optional paid plans if you want more credits and features.
How much does it cost to take payments?
You pay a standard processing fee on each card payment taken through Final Pay — a percentage plus a small fixed amount. Rates depend on your region and the card type; see the Final Pay pricing article for exact figures.
What are credits?
Credits are the usage currency for Build. You spend them as you build, and on AI image and video generation. Every plan includes a free daily allowance of credits.
Do I need a paid Build plan?
No. Build has a free tier you can start on. You can move up to Plus, Pro, or Enterprise for more monthly credits and additional features when you need them.
Do I have to buy hardware?
No. Final runs on the phone, tablet, or browser you already have. You can buy card readers or printers at their listed price if you want them.
Are there hidden fees?
No. There's no monthly software fee for the core platform and no setup or hidden fees — you pay card processing, any Build credits beyond the free allowance, and any hardware you choose.
