How to set up multi-printer routing on a Station

What you need before you start

• The Final POS app on an iOS or Android device (a Native Station). Multi-printer routing is not available on Virtual Stations running in a browser.

• At least two printers connected or ready to connect, in any combination of Bluetooth, USB, LAN or AirPrint.

• Access to your flow in Flow Studio to set print block tags.

Step 1: Open Printer Settings

1. Launch the Final POS app on your device.

2. Open the menu and go to Station Settings.

3. Select Printer Settings.

You will see the printer management screen: a list of every connected printer with its status, tags and options.

Step 2: Discover and connect your printers

1. Tap Discover Printers. The Station scans for nearby Bluetooth, USB, LAN and AirPrint printers.

2. Select each printer you want to add. It joins your active printer list.

3. If a printer does not appear (common for LAN printers on some networks), tap Add Manually and enter its IP address.

Repeat until every printer you need is listed: counter, kitchen, bar, label, whatever your setup requires.

Step 3: Assign a tag to each printer

Tags are how the Station knows where to send each print block. A tag is a short label you choose; it just needs to match what you set on the print block in Flow Studio.

1. Tap a printer card in the list.

2. Enter a tag in the Tag field. Use something descriptive: counter, kitchen, bar, label, drinks.

3. If two printers share a tag, both print that block. Keep tags unique unless you want the same ticket in two places.

4. Save the printer settings.

Step 4: Set margins and run a test print

Printers use different paper widths (80 mm thermal, 58 mm thermal, A4). Margins let you fine-tune the layout so tickets do not clip.

1. On the printer card, adjust Top Margin and Side Margin to suit your paper.

2. Tap Test Print. A sample ticket prints on that printer.

3. Check the output and adjust until it looks right.

4. Repeat for each connected printer.

Step 5: Tag your print blocks in Flow Studio

1. Open your flow in Flow Studio.

2. Find the print blocks in your flow: the blocks that generate receipts, kitchen tickets or any other printed output.

3. On each print block, set the Routing Tag to match the tag you gave the target printer in Step 3. A kitchen ticket block gets kitchen; a counter receipt block gets counter.

4. Save and deploy your flow.

Step 6: Test a full order

1. Run a test transaction through your flow on the Station.

2. Confirm that each print block lands on its printer at the same moment.

3. Check the ticket content and layout on each printer.

What happens when something goes wrong?

A printer is offline during checkout. The Station sends the job to every reachable printer and shows an alert in the checkout screen naming the printer that missed its block. The payment is not blocked; the order completes normally.

A print block tag matches no connected printer. A visible notice appears so nothing disappears silently. Check that the tag on the print block exactly matches the tag on the printer (tags are case-sensitive).

Two printers share the same tag. Both receive the same print block. Use this when you want a ticket in two locations at once.

The app is closed and relaunched. All linked printers reconnect automatically. No re-pairing, and tags and margins are preserved.

What about Virtual Stations?

If you run a Station in a browser, multi-printer routing is not available. Printer Settings shows a notice pointing you to the Final POS app on iOS or Android. Single-printer printing through the browser's print dialog continues to work.
