Introduction to Code
Code is coming soon and isn't available yet. When it launches, it will be Final's developer platform for building custom extensions — add-ons that extend Final POS with your own features, UI, data, and logic: create an extension, choose the surfaces where its UI appears, add custom tables for data and hooks and interceptors for logic, then set who can use it.
Code is coming soon. It isn't available yet — this article previews what you'll be able to do once it launches.
Code is Final's developer platform for building custom extensions — add-ons that extend Final POS with your own features. Where the rest of Final lets you run and build your store, Code lets you go further: add your own screens, data, and logic to the platform. It's made for organizations, agencies, and developers.
What you can build
An extension brings a few building blocks together:
Surfaces — the places your extension's UI appears inside Final. You choose which surfaces an extension activates — for example, in checkout, the back office, or the builder.
Custom tables — structured data for your extension. Define tables and fields to store the information it needs.
Hooks and interceptors — the custom logic your extension registers so it can respond to what happens in the store.
Access and details — set who can use the extension, add its details and images, and set pricing for it.
Together, these let you package a custom capability once and plug it into Final wherever your team works.
Who Code is for
Code is built for organizations, agencies, and developers — teams that want to tailor Final POS beyond what's built in, whether for their own business or for the companies they manage.
How Code fits with Final
Code is part of the Final POS Tool Suite. Extensions you build plug into the rest of Final — the point of sale, the Merchant Hub back office, and the builder — so your custom features show up right where they're used.
Getting started
When Code launches, it will be a web app you sign into with your Final account — where you create an extension, choose its surfaces, add any custom tables and hooks or interceptors it needs, set who can use it, and publish.
Frequently asked questions
What is Code?
Code is Final's developer platform for building custom extensions — add-ons that extend Final POS with your own features, UI, data, and logic.
What is an extension?
An extension is an add-on you build in Code. It bundles the UI it shows (surfaces), the data it stores (custom tables), the logic it runs (hooks and interceptors), and who can use it.
What are surfaces?
Surfaces are the places your extension's UI appears in Final. You pick which surfaces an extension activates — for example, in checkout, the back office, or the builder.
What are custom tables?
Custom tables are structured data storage for your extension. You define tables and fields to hold the information your extension needs.
What are hooks and interceptors?
They're the custom logic an extension registers so it can respond to what happens in the store. You choose which hooks and interceptors an extension uses.
Who is Code for?
Code is built for organizations, agencies, and developers who want to extend Final POS for themselves or for the companies they manage.
