How to read your Financial Summary
Read the Financial Summary report in the Merchant Hub — three summary charts plus detailed sections covering sales, tax, payments, refunds, card processing, staff, and tips.
What the Financial Summary shows
The Financial Summary is your overview of revenue, taxes, payments, and expenses for a chosen period. It opens with three summary charts, followed by detailed sections, with an On this page menu to jump between them.
Summary charts (top of the page)
Payment Methods — breakdown by payment type (for example, cash vs. card).
Tax Breakdown — tax collected by class (by tax rate, for example NL Sales Tax).
Staff Sales — sales by team member.

The detailed sections

Tax Breakdown — the net tax amount for each tax rate, with Total taxes.
Payments Summary — net payments received per tender type, after refunds (for example cash, card (Terminal), card (FinalPay), card (TapToPay)), with Total payments.
Refunds Summary — refunds total for each payment type, with Total refunds.

Discounts — discounts for the period.
Reading the numbers
The Sales Summary is the heart of the report: it walks from Gross Sales down to Total Sales After Taxes, showing how fees, discounts, refunds, and taxes adjust the total along the way. The charts at the top and the other sections then break the same period down by payment type, tax rate, staff, and card processing.
