Getting Started with Final Pay

Set up payment processing in the Merchant Hub so you can accept cards, wallets, and contactless payments with Final Pay, powered by Stripe.

What is Final Pay?

Final Pay is the built-in payment processing for Final Commerce. It lets you take card and digital-wallet payments in person and online, receive payouts to your bank account, and manage refunds and disputes — all from the Merchant Hub. This guide walks you through what Final Pay includes and how to complete first-time setup.

What does Final Pay include?

Final Pay brings several connected tools together under one feature. Each has its own area in the Merchant Hub navigation:

  • Payments — view and manage payment transactions, refunds, and disputes.

  • Payouts — view your balance and manage payouts to your bank account.

  • Funding — view your account balance and explore financing options when eligible.

  • Payment Setup — configure tips, cardholder signatures, and your payment account details.

  • Custom Payment — create custom payment buttons for payments taken outside cash and Final Pay.

Powered by Stripe — Final Pay is built on Stripe, a globally trusted, PCI-compliant payment platform. During setup you'll complete a short, secure Stripe onboarding flow. Final Commerce never stores your full bank or card details — they're held securely by Stripe.

Before you begin: what you'll need

Setup takes about five minutes. Have the following ready so you can finish in one sitting:

  • Business information — your legal business name, business type/structure, address, and contact details.

  • Owner / representative details — personal information for the person authorized to set up payments on behalf of the business.

  • Bank account details — the account where you want your payouts deposited.

  • Verification documents — depending on your country and business type, you may be asked to confirm your identity.

Who can set this up — Access to Final Pay is included with eligible plans. If you don't see the Final Pay areas in your navigation, your current plan may not include payments — contact your Final Commerce account team. Editing payment settings also requires the right user permission; if the Save button is unavailable, ask an administrator to grant you access to payment settings.

Step 1 — Open Final Pay and start setup

  1. Open any Final Pay area from the Merchant Hub navigation (for example, Payments or Payouts).

  2. On the welcome screen, you'll see "Start accepting payments" with a summary of the benefits: accept payments, fast payouts, and secure, compliant processing.

  3. Select Get Started. This creates your payment account and begins onboarding. Your business country is detected automatically from your outlet locations.

Good to know: The welcome screen notes it takes about 5 minutes and that you'll need your bank details and business information. You can pause and return later — your progress is saved.

Step 2 — Complete your payment account (onboarding)

After selecting Get Started, you'll move through Stripe's secure onboarding form, hosted right inside the Merchant Hub. You'll be asked to provide:

  • Business details — legal name, business type, and structure

  • Personal details for the business owner or authorized representative

  • Your bank account for payouts

  • Any verification documents required for your country or business type

If you exit before finishing, the next time you open a Final Pay area you'll see "Continue your payment setup" with a prompt to complete the remaining steps. Pick up where you left off and submit the form.

Step 3 — Confirm you're ready to accept payments

Once your details are submitted and verified, the onboarding screens disappear and the full Final Pay experience unlocks. You'll know setup is complete when:

  • The Payments, Payouts, and Funding areas show your live data instead of the setup prompt.

  • The Payment Setup page shows a Payment Account section for managing your business and bank details.

If something is still pending: Stripe may need extra time or additional documents to finish verifying your account. If an area still shows a setup prompt after you've submitted everything, give verification a little time, then check back. Persistent issues can be raised with Final Commerce support.

What you can do once setup is complete

With Final Pay active, you can:

  • Accept payments — cards, wallets, and contactless, in store and online.

  • Get paid — receive payouts to your bank account on a flexible schedule, and view your balance any time.

  • Manage transactions — review payments, issue refunds, and respond to disputes.

  • Take in-person payments — use a compatible card reader linked to your stations.

  • Tailor checkout — turn on tips and cardholder signatures, and add custom payment buttons.
