Getting Started with Build

Build is Final's AI builder for checkout flows. Instead of writing code, you describe the flow you want in a chat, and Build creates it for you — then shows a live preview you can try, refine by chatting, and deploy to your stations.

What is Build?

Build turns a plain-language description into a working checkout flow — a point-of-sale experience that runs on your Final POS stations. You don't need any coding or design experience: you tell Build what you want, and it generates the screens, layout, and logic for you.

Because your flow runs on Final, it works with your real store data — your catalog, cart, payments, refunds, and printing — through Final's built-in connection. That connection also works offline, so a flow keeps taking payments even without a network.

How does Build work?

Building a flow is a conversation:

• Describe it. Tell Build what you want to build, in your own words.

• Preview it live. Build generates the flow and opens an interactive preview you can click through.

• Refine by chatting. Ask for changes — add a screen, adjust the design, wire up a feature — and the preview updates.

• Deploy it. When it's ready, deploy the flow so it runs on your stations.

Build has a few chat modes. Build mode makes changes to your flow. Plan and Ask are read-only — use them to plan an approach or ask a question without changing anything.

What can Build make?

Build is designed for retail and point-of-sale flows. It can create things like product catalogs and checkout screens, a station home screen, receipt printing, and barcode scanning — all wired to your real Final POS data. For back-office setup that the on-device connection doesn't cover, your flow can securely call Final's API at runtime.

Can I use my own branding and assets?

Yes. Build follows the branding you specify — your colors, light or dark appearance, and corner style — rather than imposing its own. You can also upload assets into your flow, including logos, images, audio, video, fonts, and PDFs, and Build will use them in the right places.

Which AI model does Build use?

Build uses Google's Gemini models by default, with a faster everyday model and a higher-quality option you can pick per chat. Enterprise plans can unlock advanced models. You can also generate images and short promotional videos for launching your flow or store.

Can I build with my own AI tool?

Yes. Build offers a connection (MCP) that lets external AI tools — such as Claude Code, Cursor, or ChatGPT — build Final flows using their own model, grounded in Final's capabilities. Anything they build still appears in Build, so you can preview, refine, and deploy it the same way.

What does Build cost?

Build usage runs on credits, with Free, Plus, Pro, and Enterprise plans. Higher tiers include more credits and unlock additional features and advanced AI models. Plans are billed per organization.
