Key terms used across the Merchant Hub and Final POS:

  • Attribute – A re-usable product option (Size, Color) that combines with others to create variants.

  • Company – A single business or store within Final. One organization can contain multiple companies.

  • Custom Payments – An extension that lets you record non-integrated payment methods. A 1% per-transaction platform fee applies.

  • End of Session – A report generated when a Station session is closed, summarizing sales, taxes, and tips for that session.

  • Extension – An add-on that brings new capabilities to the Merchant Hub.

  • Final Pay – Final's integrated payment processing service.

  • Flow – A checkout experience built in the Build tool. Stations run flows.

  • Merchant Hub – The merchant-facing admin tool — Manage, Run, and Pay together.

  • MOTO – Mail Order / Telephone Order. A card-not-present payment method where card details are keyed in by staff.

  • Native Station – A Station that runs on a dedicated device through the Final POS app.

  • Outlet – A physical or virtual location for a company. A company can have many.

  • Pincode – The numeric code a user enters at a Station to log in.

  • Plan – The pricing tier that controls your platform fees and usage limits.

  • Smart Grid – The configurable grid of tappable tiles on a Station's home screen.

  • Station – A single point-of-sale instance. Native runs on a device; Virtual runs in a browser.

  • Tap to Pay on mobile – Accepting contactless card payments directly on a supported phone or tablet.

  • Tax Group – A group of one or more Tax Rates applied together. Assigned to products.

  • Tax Rate – A single percentage tax defined within a Tax Group.

  • Virtual Station – A Station that runs in a web browser.
