Getting Started with Final Terminal

What is Final Terminal?

Final Terminal is software for taking card payments that runs directly on a dedicated smart terminal: an all-in-one device that reads the card and runs the app on its own screen. From the home screen you have four options: Quick Charge, Quick Refund, MOTO, and Send Payment Link.

What do I need to run it?

Final Terminal runs on a dedicated smart terminal from Final. The card reader and the app are the same device, so you take payments right on the terminal. For the current hardware lineup, see finalpos.com/hardware.

How do I get a Final Terminal?

Final Terminal runs on a dedicated smart terminal. If you do not have one yet, see finalpos.com/hardware or contact the Final team. Once you have your terminal, follow How to set up Final Terminal for the first time to get going.

What are the four options?

• Quick Charge: take a one-off payment. Enter an amount, optionally add a tip, take the payment, and print or email the receipt. See How to take a Quick Charge.

• Quick Refund: refund a past order. Find it by amount, receipt, or employee, then refund to the same card used for the purchase. See How to issue a Quick Refund.

• MOTO: take a keyed, card-not-present payment by entering the amount and the customer's card details. See How to take a MOTO payment.

• Send Payment Link: charge without the card present. Enter the amount and the customer's email, and Final Terminal emails a Final Pay payment link they pay on their own device. No reader is required; the success screen and receipt show subtotal, tax, and total. See How to send a payment link.

• MOTO (keyed, card-not-present) payments are available in Final Terminal.

• Send Payment Link emails the customer a Final Pay payment link to pay on their own device, with no card reader required.
