Final Pay is powered by Stripe, so the businesses that can accept payments through it follow Stripe's restricted businesses policy. Most everyday retail, hospitality, and service businesses are supported — but some business types are restricted or prohibited.
Which businesses can use Final Pay?
Supported — the large majority of businesses: retail shops, cafes and restaurants, bars, salons, professional services, wholesale, and more.
Restricted — certain categories are allowed only under conditions or after review.
Prohibited — some business types cannot be supported at all.
Why some businesses are restricted
Card networks, banks, and regulations place limits on certain categories — for example, some regulated, high-risk, or legally sensitive activities. Because Final Pay processes payments through Stripe, those same rules apply, and the definitive categories are set by Stripe's restricted businesses policy.
Final's Acceptable Use
Separately, Final's Terms require lawful use of the platform: you may not use Final to break the law, infringe intellectual property, send spam, or interfere with the service. Accounts that violate this may be suspended.
During setup
When you set up Final Pay, Stripe may ask for details about your business so it can verify your account can be supported. Providing accurate business information up front helps avoid delays in getting approved to take payments.
Confirm your business is eligible
Stripe's restricted businesses policy can change over time, so if you're not certain your category qualifies, check before you invest time setting up:

Frequently asked questions
Can any business use Final Pay?
Most everyday retail, hospitality, and service businesses can. Because Final Pay runs on Stripe, some business types are restricted or prohibited under Stripe's restricted businesses policy and can't be onboarded.
Who decides which businesses are restricted?
Stripe does — Final Pay is powered by Stripe, so Stripe's restricted businesses policy (along with card network and legal rules) applies. Final's Terms also require lawful use of the platform.
What is the difference between restricted and prohibited?
Restricted businesses may be allowed only under certain conditions or after review, while prohibited businesses are not supported at all.
What if my business type isn't allowed?
It may not be able to onboard, or it may need review first. Contact Final support before you start and we'll help confirm whether your business is eligible.
Does my business type affect my rates?
Eligibility and pricing are separate. Your rates depend on your region and the card types you accept — see the Final Pay pricing article.
