Run: open your point-of-sale and manage Stations
An overview of Run in the Merchant Hub — open your point-of-sale on a Native or Virtual Station — with links to Station setup, sessions, sales, and refund guides.
What is Run?
Run is where you open your point-of-sale and take orders. You can run a Station two ways — a Native Station in the Final POS app on a device, or a Virtual Station in a web browser — both using the same flows and products.
Find the right Run article
Station Home — the home screen of a Station; open and close sessions, switch users, and reach the Station menu.
How to open a session — start your shift (and enter your opening float when Cash Management is on).
How to ring up a sale — add items to the cart and go to checkout.
How to take a payment — take cash or card payment at checkout.
How to make a Custom Sale — ring up an off-catalog item.
How to make a refund — refund an order at the till.
How to set up a Native Station — the POS app on an Apple or Android device.
How to set up a Virtual Station — the POS in a web browser.
Native Station vs. Virtual Station — which to use, and what's unique to each.
Your Flows & flow settings
Organization and Final users also see Your Flows in the Run menu, where you manage the checkout flows your Stations run. Open a flow's settings to control how Stations behave, across two tabs:
Station Home — PIN requirements, station lock and flow timeouts, locked access, and Cash Management (see How to enable Cash Management on your flow).
Payments & Data — the payment methods available in this flow.
Use Save Changes to apply your settings, or Reset to discard them.
Stations
Navigate to Run → Stations to see every Station registered to your company, filtered by the All, Native, and Virtual tabs.
Native Stations register automatically when you open the Final POS app on a device — see How to set up a Native Station.
Virtual Stations are created here with Add Virtual Station — see How to set up a Virtual Station.
From a Station's ⋯ menu you can Rename or Delete it. Native stations also offer View Device Info; virtual stations offer Run Station and Copy Share Link.
Note: Your plan limits how many Stations you can have active. If you've hit the limit, a banner explains how to add more or upgrade.
